About Saint Monica Girls School
Our Mission: "Connecting professionals of all fields with the children of Africa"
Northern Uganda has suffered through more than twenty years of war and terrorism at the hands of the Lord’s Resistance Army. The LRA wiped out villages in night raids, abducted young boys and girls who were then trained as child soldiers, and completely demolished the economy and livelihood of the northern region, displacing more than 2 million people.
Now that the immediate threat of the LRA has subsided, the growing network of the Saint Monica Girls School is helping hundreds of young women of northern Uganda and South Sudan redefine their role in society by instilling dignity and self-sufficiency through academics and practical skills training. Saint Monica also provides low-cost medical care and child care services.
